Defaust search engine Thunderbird email settings

more options

I've down loaded firefox as my default browser, and set it as default in windows10. Which works fine.

In thunderbird email, in General Settings I'm trying to set Firefox as my default search engine. However, this option isn't available in the dropdown menu. When I chose Add, to add another search engine, it asks me for its URL. I've typed firefox.org in the Add box, but firefox news appears in the dropdown box. When I click on a hyperlink in an email, nothing happens. Is there a different URL I can use? Thanks.

Thanks David, I found that out after I posted, when I tried to change the google search box in firefox. I assumed a browser was also a search engine! However, the hyperlink issue remains and has also affected my phone now. Ho hum!
