Thunderbird showing local folder pane before Inbox when starting program

more options

I'm using Thunderbird 32 bit 60.4.0, and when opening the program I'm getting a quick flash of the Local Folder pane, before it switches to the Inbox.

I'm not sure when this started as I had to use my laptop instead of a PC for a few weeks, and I assumed that maybe it was because that machine is a lot slower than my PC. However, I've now switched back to my PC, using the same version of TB, and I'm getting the same flash of Local Folder when starting the program.

This has only started happening in the last few weeks, so I'm guessing it is some sort of bug in one of the latest versions? My operating system is Windows 10 Pro version 1803.

I hope someone can advise. :)

Just a quick update. It looks like this is some sort of bug, as I've just found this reference - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1484270

It looks like it's been an issue for five months, so maybe I should roll back to a previous version! I'm not sure how easy that is?

So you have identified a bug that means what happened before happens faster, so you want to downgrade. to a slower loading version because something flickers for "a flash" on startup. I just don't follow that logic t all.

I can't see any difference in speed, so nothing appears to be happening any faster for me than it did before. I find the "flash" really annoying. It may not bother some people, but we're all different, yes?

As the bug seems to have been in place for five months, it doesn't look as though it will be fixed anytime soon. So rolling back to an earlier version that doesn't have the problem seems like the only option to get rid of it! That's my logic. :)
