Popcorn Maker has a lot to offer for media artists everywhere.
It also has limitations. Mixing together many tracks of media at the same time in a web browser takes a lot of bandwitch, and there are going to be hiccups from time to time.
The good news is that because it's a free and open source web project, anybody with skills and motivation can take a crack at improving the software and user experience.
My video is choppy when I try to play it
There's a lot of reasons why you may be experiencing poor playback with Popcorn Maker, but generally it's because there are a lot of video events. Exactly how much Popcorn Maker can handle before it gets bogged down is dependent on how fast your internet connection is, and how fast the internet connection is for your audience.
If you start to notice poor playback, try the following
- Reduce the number of video clips on your timeline
- Turn off the video for some of your clips, and use only the audio
- Try not to trigger no more than two video clips at the same time
Why can't I do X, Y, or Z?
