icon for sound on taskbar is missing

That really isn't a Firefox support issue.
Open the Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices. On the Volume tab, check-mark the item for Place volume icon on the taskbar (or something similar - I use WinXP, not Vista - but it should be in a similar location and have a similar title for that preference).
the 'place volume icon...' is checked but the icon still does not appear on my taskbar...what gives?
