I'm having problems with just some websites. They begin to load normally but never complete. So I can often see all or part of the page, but can't interact - e.g. I can get into an e-mail program (e.g. Yahoo) and maybe open an e-mail, but I'm unable to reply to it. Or only part of the page loads and then hangs. Or sometimes none of the page loads it just hangs for a half hour showing a white screen. Other sites load fully and normally.

This has happened with Yahoo Mail, Ebay, Hotmail and some other sites.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes). See Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems and Troubleshoot issues with plugins like Flash or Java to fix common Firefox problems

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears. You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions. You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

I tried checking and disabling plugins. That seemed to be the problem. The sites that didn't load completely before are loading now.

However, it did happen sporadically in the past so it may be temporary. If it recurs, I'll post again, but for right now, I think it's fixed.

Thanks!

I tried starting Firefox 3.6.10 in safe mode, but that did not make any difference. Yahoo Mail! still fails to load. I am able to enter my user ID and password, but then the site seems to go into a loop and never continues to load. This particular problem started on Sat. Oct 25th for both of my Macs. I have not been able to log into a number of sites as they all do basically the same thing; get stuck in a loop after I have entered my user ID and password. Any other ideas?

I presume you meant September 25th? I am having the same problem, and it seems to have started two or three weeks ago. Before that, I was able to get into my Yahoo mail without too much difficulty. But now, I cannot get into it at all.

I can sign into Yahoo, but when I click the "mail" button, the page tries to load but never does. Numerous attempts at "reload" don't help. Just end up with a blank white page. Yahoo help wants me to try it with my ZoneAlarm firewall AND my AVG anti-virus disabled! No way! I got a trojan last year and had to do a complete reformat to get rid of it.

I am also finding that some other pages will not load either. I cannot load this one, for instance:

http://www.live.intelus.webcollage.net/server/costco/intelus-product-content/httpb?ws-action=http://www.live.intelus.webcollage.net/www.intel.com/distributed/sm/v3/c2quad_cdm_r/eng/index.htm.html?tab%3ddemo-1%26wcpc%3dintel-core2-quad%26tab-caption%3dProduct%252bTour%26tab-code%3ddemo%26tab-var%3d1%26showtabs%3dtrue%26format%3dpopup%26is-in-showcase%3dfalse~&ws-containerurl=http://www.dummy-container-url.com&wcpc=intel-core2-quad&enable-reporting=true&type=&MarkupType=document&PresentationFormat=html

It is supposed to be a page that explains the Intel Core 2 Quad processor.

I recently installed the latest version of Java and flash, but not sure how to figure out if those now need updating.

I just now discovered that my Belarc Advisor won't load either.

I have an Intel Quad-4 CPU, XPPro OS, using FF 3.6.10. I cannot open Yahoo mail with Sea Monkey either. I have the "no script" plug-in with my FF, but I fully authorize Yahoo and the other pages that won't load, so doubt that is the problem. I tried disabling "no script" while trying to get Yahoo Mail, but that didn't help.

I do not have any trouble getting into my Gmail, with either browser, though it is slow since I only have dial-up access to the Internet.

Thanks,

Bob

I might suggest that a little investigation of the root cause is in order. I think you need to see if it is indeed firefox or the net or your machine or your connection. I would download opera and try it on the same sites. If opera can load them quickly, then you need to address machine, net, connection and add-ons. You can test your connection in a number of ways. Just use google. If all is good there, disable ALL add-on and it is still slow, with your description o four machine, it must be firefox. I little knowledge goes a long way.

Best, Scott

I have tried everything that is mentioned. Firefox in safe mode, and all addons disabled. My problem is similar to the the others mentioned in various posts, but, occurs intermittently. I have had failures with http://www.weather.com/ (then select hourly) www.centurylink.net While at centurylink.net, I log on to my email account. I then display my emails at and select one to reply. http://md42.embarq.synacor.com/zimbra/mail#2 Firefox hangs with "loading" being displayed in the tab. Eventually the loading disappears, but, I can not enter anything in the message area. This fails everytime.

I have two separate systems and both of them fail George

It must be an issue with the last update. I am having the same issue and I dont want to use IE to check my mail. Please help

I tried safe mode with no success. I am trying to view a local tv stations web site for updats on a weather warning and it just sits there with the old page showing and the green status bar at the bottom showing 95% completion. (it's going on 5 minutes, now)

I have this problem on both Firefox and IE. However, if I load AOL's software and use their version of IE, I can load virtually all my problem websites. I hate AOL's interface, so I use Firefox to browse and if a site hangs up, I copy the URL to AOL's address bar and it loads immediately.

I'm having the same problem. I have a relatively vanilla XP machine. I use ESET32, Malwarebytes, Zonealarm and thunderbird All other software aps I've tried have no issues connecting to the internet, including IE and the aps listed above.

I had been running an earlier 3.x version before I updated to 3.6.12 and before that several 2.x versions I can't remember what version, but it was not too out of date. The problems started with 3.6.12. I found directions else what said Update all the plugins, but do Java first.

Some pages are worse than others. Facebook is probably the worst. Yahoo mostly works. These Mozilla pages have no problem.

I am also dialup so that may be the clue. With others using higher and higher bandwiths, it may be time out related.

OK, the last version I successfully used was 3.5.5.

So the problem exists between these 2 versions.

yah, I know it's a year old.

Can I reload 3.5.5 on top of 3.6.12. Do I need to save bookmarks and cookies?

I am having some real issues with a conflict between Mozilla Firefox and Yahoo mail. I have 3 email addresses and I cannot access my email. When clicking on my emails, it just keeps loading and loading until finally that is a 'cannot locate server'. I have found if I right click on the mail button all my emails come up but I still cannot access them as normal. If I right click on those as well and 'open in a new page' I can access them, but if they are SPAM, I cannot place them in the SPAM folder to be deleted.

This is really a pain. I will uninstall Mozilla and use I.E. until MAYBE this can get resolved by those with more Technical Skills at Mozilla.

I have been having this problem to varying degrees for a couple of months. This past week it got bad enough I couldn't log in to Facebook at all without the page reloading, and reloading..... I ran 3 different malware apps and 3 different spy ware apps. Finally on the second run of Malware Bytes Anti-malware I found I was infected by Trojan Vundo. It has now been taken care of and I no longer have any problems.

Had a problem last night with html/dropagent ab, win32.autorun.tmp and couponbar! Used Spybot, and Avira to get rid of the first 2, but Spybot couldn't get rid of couponbar from the Registry. Not had any trouble before but now I'm having trouble loading certain websites, such as Moneysavingexpert.com and Expedia. With the former, it just say 'waiting for imgaes2.moneysavingexpert.com' and waits and waits. I've deleted the cookies and history for that site and got in to the front page, but then it did the same thing trying to go any further. Any suggestions would be most welcome please!! I'm using 3.6.15 on XP service pack 2. Thanks

PS: Just to add - I disabled Java for that site and got in, although the formatting was all over the place and it was still trying to load more although all the text was there. Don't know if that's significant.

Sadly, I found it was Adblock Plus that was locking up Yahoo Mail. Uninstalled it and Yahoo Mail loaded without a blink. I've switched to Ad Muncher for a trial.

I am also experiencing this problem. I do not have a Mac and I do not use Yahoo. I have tried all the things listed above that I can. My main problem seems to be with Photobucket Searches. I can see the first 2 pages and them it either partially loads the 3rd page or nothing at all. I have been in touch with Photobucket and done all they requested and still no relief from this bothersome glitch! I am glad to see I am not the only one experiencing this issue-although I wish none of us were! Photobucket reps have led me to believe no one else is having this issue. At first, I thought it was a Java script error, so I disabled it and it worked for about 2 to 3 weeks and then it went right back to the problems.

I've tried updating Firefox including Firefox 4.0 and still having the problem, sporadically, on some sites. I reinstalled java and later updated it. I stopped using adblocker. Ran antivirus (two different software company's versions), anti-malware. All came up clean. Problem also happens with Safari at times.

Also, got another laptop, Mac book pro with Snow Leopard. Same problem occurring with this computer and software.

Additionally, now having trouble with Yahoo messenger. It may load and open. But crashes frequently. Or just stops working and totally freezes computer: finder, browser and anything else running. Requires shutoff/restart.
