Export as a comma separated .csv file.

If you match the column headers with those used in Thunderbird and in same order, it makes importing a bit easier, but not essential as you can map them once you start importing. Comma Separated .csv files can be opened using MS Excel. Make sure you have the same column heading as used in Thunderbird. This link will tell you all the address book fields used in Thunderbird.

In Thunderbird; Click on 'Address Book' 'Tools' > 'Import' select 'Address books' and click on 'Next Select 'Text file (LDIF, .tab, .csv, .txt) and click on Next Select the .csv file and click on Open then you need to map the Outlook fields to the Thunderbird fields
