Why does Thunderbird forget my printer settings?
I use an HP1050 ink-jet printer. Normally I wish to print using the Black ink cartridge only. Every time to want to print an email, I have to select the advanced printer settings to use black only. This takes seven mouse clicks. The next time I print, it defaults back to printing in colour.
Is there any way to instruct Thunderbird to use Black ink as the default, unless I tell it otherwise?

Go to devices and printers on your start menu. Select the printer and right click Set the default properties and preferences for the printer

Thanks - that was simple!
I was confused, because other applications - Word, Excel, Adobe PDF printing - remembered the last printer settings used, whereas Thunderbird did not.
Interesting hey, Thunderbird does what Microsoft wanted everyone to do when they introduced the print manager back about Windows 3, and that is let windows worry about the printer. And almost all their own products don't do that.
