For the past two days Firefox has crashed whenever I try and download something, including in safe mode. Even if I'm not actively downloading, and just want to look at my downloads box to clear the list it crashes. Actually, crashes may not be the right word, it just freezes up and I have to use the task manager to close it. Apart from this, I have had no problems with browsing. I can still download with no problems with Internet Explorer and Chrome.

See both firefox crashes and firefox hangs please provide Crash IDs if you are getting crashes.

Note also that firefox 10 upgrades were suspended, and Firefox 10.0.1 is now coming out. One of the problems that will fix is hangs relating to java use; that may turn out to be the problem you have.

I suggest you keep your eyes on latest firefox issues which hopefully will be updated shortly.

(I note you are using 10.0 and 11.0b according to the system info aside you may be interested in some of the more techie explanations in another section )
