Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

Note: None of the bugs are confirmed yet.

I can not say I understand the bug reports, but the first is old dating from 2010. The second is newer, and I guess from the description that the problem is mainly a Windows problem.

I doubt the bugs are a helpful reference for emma12 but maybe at some time they will report a fix or a workaround. It is something causing a few thousand crashes each week.

Presumably Windows/Firefox does not always crash on downloading images so the advice to try safemode is still worth following.
