Some images won’t load
Hello! I’m using a Mac and I just recently changed the main user’s name in the laptop, and now some images won’t ever load. For example, the profile pictures won’t load in StackOverflow and the image of my university in Google Drive won’t load. Actually, I’m not really sure anymore if it has anything to do with changing the username but I only started noticing it after that time. I also tried clearing the cache and resetting Firefox and even tried reinstalling it but the images still won’t load. Any help would be great. Thanks!

I just found out the problem: Imgur is blocked in my current region. That’s why no images linked to Imgur will load. The site is unreachable, too. Thank you for your help!

Here are some screenshots of the problem. I hope this helps.
Hi Joseph, could you try a few things to see whether they give us more information:
(1) right-click (one button: Ctrl+click) a missing image and click Open Image in New Tab
Does Firefox display any error messages, or still just a broken image?
(2) Open the Network Monitor in the lower part of the tab on a page with this problem. You can either use Command+Shfit+E or open the dev tools panel and then switch to the Network panel from whichever one comes up:
- "3-bar" menu button > More Tools > Web Developer Tools
- (menu bar) Tools > Browser Tools > Web Developer Tools
Reload the page to re-request files and Firefox should list all the files it is requesting, along with information about whether the request was successful.
(3) Switch to the Console tab of the developer tools and check for error messages, or any other relevant-looking explanations about why some files might not have been loaded.
Anything interesting?
I'm not really sure what I'm looking at but I provided a screenshot of the results (for the Stack Overflow). As for the console, nothing shows up.
Hi Joseph, this is an example profile photo URL I see in a randomly selected thread on StackOverflow. Can your Firefox view this one:

If not, could you:
Double-check content blockers: Firefox's Tracking Protection feature, and extensions that counter ads and tracking, may break websites that embed third party content (meaning, from a secondary server).
(A) The shield icon toward the left end of the address bar usually turns a bit purplish when content is blocked. Click the icon to learn more or make an exception. See: Enhanced Tracking Protection in Firefox for desktop.
(B) Extensions such as Adblock Plus, Blur, Disconnect, DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials, Ghostery, NoScript, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin or uMatrix usually provide a toolbar button to manage blocked content in a page. There may or may not be a number on the icon indicating the number of blocked items; you sometimes need to click the button to see what's going on and test whether you need to make an exception for this site.
Any improvement so far? If not:
Testing in Firefox's Safe/Troubleshoot Mode: In this mode, Firefox temporarily deactivates extensions, hardware acceleration, any userChrome.css/userContent.css files, and some other advanced features to help you assess whether these are causing the problem.
You can restart Firefox in Safe/Troubleshoot Mode using either:
- "3-bar" menu button > Help > Troubleshoot Mode... (before Fx88: Restart with Add-ons Disabled)
- (menu bar) Help menu > Troubleshoot Mode... (before Fx88: Restart with Add-ons Disabled)
and OK the restart. A small dialog should appear. Click the Open button (before Fx88: "Start in Safe Mode" button).
Note: Don't use the Refresh without first reviewing this article to understand what will be deleted: Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings.
Any improvement?
Note that some small images might be provided via a special iconic font.
Make sure you allow pages to choose their own fonts.
- Settings -> General: Fonts & Colors -> Advanced
[X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of your selections above"
Also make sure that you do not block remote fonts.
Apparently none of these work for me... I also tried restarting the laptop but that doesn't fix anything. I also just noticed that the same problem persists when I use Safari. I also tried connecting to my mobile data but the problem's still there. I also noticed just now that all images (uploaded images and profile pictures) in all Stackexchange websites won't load. I attached a screenshot of the problem.

Can you post a link to a publicly accessible page (i.e. no authentication or signing on required)?
What does the Network Monitor show in the HTTP response headers of these images assuming that they aren't blocked in a way that they aren't requested ?
Try this https://stackoverflow.com/users/12163930/j-herrera. Does the image load in your end?
I think that it looks OK.
Do you mean that this image doesn't load ?

Yeah, profile pictures and uploaded images in all Stack Exchange websites don't load on my end. I just checked with all my devices and the problem's still there. I guess it's not really a problem with Mozilla. I'll have to ask other forums for a solution then. Thank you for your time!
Edit: I may have found the problem (MAYBE), it's that the imgur website is unreachable on my end. That may be the cause of the problem.

Can you resolve imgur via the DNS lookup tool on the about:networking page ?
You can check the connection settings.
- Settings -> General -> Network: Connection -> Settings
If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.
See "Firefox connection settings":
