When I open new tabs they currently open to yahoo. I want to change it to google but I can't figure out how.
I want new tabs to open to google which is my homepage. Right now they open to yahoo which I have never used. How do I change it to make the tabs open to my homepage?

Firefox opens a new tab by default with a blank page (about:blank).
If that isn't happening for you then an extension has changed that.
