Why Firefox?
Please. Why do you add a Megabar without letting the users the abilitiy to disable it? https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/fwhlva/address_barawesomebar_design_update_in_firefox_75/
For now, it is possible to disable it. But, its just temporary. Why do u wonder when people switch to Chromium based Browsers? You just dont love us... I cant even install an XPI on Firefox Nightly, u know what people want i guess... The Megabar is so ugly, please. PLEASE dont let these things happen: Say goodbye to:
browser.urlbar.update1 browser.urlbar.update1.view.stripHttps browser.urlbar.openViewOnFocus

Hello pushergene,
You and many, many others (including yours truly) are not happy (euphemism) with this new feature .....
Would you do this please :
Type in the address bar about"config and press Enter. (ignore the warning)
Type in the search bar and look for the preference :
browser.urlbar.openViewOnFocus
and set its value to false
Do the same with these preferences :
browser.urlbar.update1
browser.urlbar.update1.interventions
browser.urlbar.update1.searchTips
Then close and restart Firefox.
(if it's only the Top Sites suggestions that you want to get rid of : setting the value of first preference to "false" will do that)
If this does indeed turn out to be a temporary fix, then I'm afraid that many users will turn their back on Firefox. But let's hope that they will come to their senses ....
I just dont understand why they do this... just why? And also: why am i not able to install .xpi file manually? Wtf? Mozilla probably knows what people want...
The people who answer questions here are (for the main part) volunteers, users just like you, who are trying to help other users in their spare time. Nothing we can do about this, other than to provide you with this option to change the value of those preferences.
