Firefox and proxy settings that changes during a session

I have a corporate laptop that needs to use a corporate proxy when connected via VPN or physically to the corporate network. Obviously, there is no proxy when it is connected to my home network directly.

I've written a proxy autoconfiguration script that can detect which network I'm on and configure the proxy accordingly. The problem is that Firefox only runs it once. It does not do so when later the network settings change, i.e. when I connect via VNP.

Firefox automatic detection fails also.

Any suggestions ?

Maybe this extension helps:

Doesn't really solve my problem. Foxyproxy allows to define different proxy configuration for different URLs, while I need different configurations when I'm connected via different networks. In fact, javascript in the proxy autoconfiguration file is perfectly capable of doing this - all I need is a way to tell Firefox to reload it when network settings change.

Even "reload pac" option does not really work - Firefox only reloads it after some connection times out.

At the same time IE manages to work correctly

Did you try the Reload button in Tools > Options > Advanced > Network: Connection > Settings ?

You can also reload the PAC file with the Prefbar extension and the Reload PAC button.
