I'm a developer. So it's crucial that the fonts I choose actually show up properly.

On a test site, I included my Google fonts in the head, called them, tested the site in chrome and safari and all is right with the world. Oh look, Firefox Quantum is out, and the dev edition - new and shiny, let me install and test.

And the fonts I call with google, are not all loading. Oswald seems to load, though in the wrong weight even though the weight is called in the css. The cursive font though, Euphoria Script, doesn't load at all and is being replaced by a font that breaks the layout (apple seems to be replacing it with Apple Chancery).

This is crucial to the websites I create, that the fonts actually show up as they're called. Why on earth is the new Quantum ignoring font calls?

Remember something...sorta.. Are the fonts being called up local on the domain or from google ? As it matters. If remember I think as was in passing Local breaks it.

Nothing will get done unless comment where it needs to be. I can only inform and that was the best I can remember after so many questions. To find that to confirm, never but if post back someone may remember working on that one.

To submit suggestions for new or changed features, may I suggest: Feedback: https://qsurvey.mozilla.com/s3/FirefoxInput/ If you have a bug, file a bug report. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/ Bug Writing Guidelines : https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/QA/Bug_writing_guidelines

Are there error messages in the Web Console?

If these fonts are also installed locally then there might be sandbox security issues.

You can set this pref to 2 or 1 on the about:config page to lower the sandbox security setting.

  • security.sandbox.content.level = 1
  • close and restart Firefox (Firefox-> Quit Firefox) to make the change effective.

If '1' still doesn't have effect then try '0' to disable the sandbox.

If this didn't work then undo/reverse the change and reset the pref via the right-click context menu to the default value.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
