Hello, I cannot send emails in Thunderbird. The email is configured properly, and the SMTP server as well. I tried without VPN and antivirus and it still does not work. I am on Windows 10. Here is the message I get. Could you please help?

Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because connecting to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.etud.univ-paris8.fr failed. The server may be unavailable or is refusing SMTP connections. Please verify that your Outgoing server (SMTP) settings are correct and try again.

Was "accidently" upgraded to beta version 133.0. How do I get back to stable version? And why did this happen?

I am supposed to be on the esr release program, but today I was automatically updated to beta release 133.0. This is the second time this happened. Thunderbird shows a red screen, and recommends I install the last stable release, 128.5.0esr, which is what I want to do. But the last time, when I tried to go back to a stable release, it then wouldn't let me do that because it says the profile may no longer be compatible. I solved it painfully using timemachine backups of older profiles.

What is the simplest, safest way to downgrade, now that I am in this situation? And why is this happening?

Since the TB update on 12/13, I have not been able to download any of my comcast email. I keep getting asked for the password repeatedly, even after I have entered the current password. I changed my comcast password, hoping this would solve the problem, but it has not. I have also checked the server settings and everything seems fine. I AM able to SEND email from TB, but not receive. Help!

I have a downloaded message in Thunderbird that has no content and I can't delete. When I single click on the message nothing happens (I stay on the previously selected message). When I double click the message I get a blank screen.

There is therefore no way I can delete this message. Nor can I do anything else with it (reply, move, copy etc). I have tried closing and re-starting Thunderbird but the problem persists.

All other messages I can open and delete as normal

Help please! I am using Thunderbird version 128.5.2esr on a PC running Windows 10

My Emails from my lap top have stopped working. I am getting nothing coming in and when I send a test message a password is required. I put in the password and am told that I am not communicating with my mail server on the BT site. However, when I access the BT site directly, I can send and receive email OK. The problem is on my home computer and the Thunderball applications.

Hello since some days the connection to the pop3s.bluewin.ch (Port 995) ist AUTOMATICALLY reset. (message on the screen) I can't receive ANY message on this account. IN outlook I get mails on this account. On the provider Website (BLUEWIN) I get mails.

MY set up is pop3s,bluewin.ch Port 995

This is a long lasting account, since I started mailing, so its quite big.

I would like to create a series of events, but each named individually. In my case, I do take part in a challenge which lasts 99 days.

So I would like to create 99 events in my calendar, each named "Day 1" or "Challenge Day 1", then "Day 2" or "Challenge Day 2"

You get the idea. I was able of course to create 99 events, but they are all named equally.

Any help would be useful

I had the option of Chinese -TW language installed in previous versions of TB. Previously the Main menu usually displayed in English. However, after updating to current 128.5.2 esr, the menu labels change to Chinese. I'd like to have the menu displayed in English again. Thank you.

1. Reinstalled new Firebird after crash. 2. No formatting buttons appear when composing (bold, italic, colors, etc.) 2. Composing is set for HTML only 3. Click on View Toolbars, but Formatting toolbar is not on list. Just "Menu Bar," "Composition Toolbar," "Status bar," and "Customize". The missing buttons are NOT in Customize.

That's how TB installed after downloading.

I am not a newbie, and have been using Eudora then TB since the late 20th century.

When I right click on Trash and select "Empty trash" emails are removed but empty subfolders remain. If I try to delete them individually, they simply show up again as they are added to the trash folder.

Apparently there is no way to remove these empty subfolders from trash.

Help!

I am using Thunderbird on my Ubuntu desktop to access rich02@board18.org on my DreamHost shared server. this has worked fine for years. But then I upgraded Ubuntu to release 24.04.1. This release of Ubuntu switched to a Snap package for Thunderbird. Since then I have been experiencing a lot of errors [IE: Mail text not showing on screen, unable to save messages to sent file, messages sent by others not arriving on my laptop, etc.]. I also use Thunderbird to access a gmail account which has none of these errors. If I access rich02@board18.org from other [non Thunderbird] mail clients I see none of these errors. This problem is only in Thunderbird.

I have searched Thunderbird help and support sites and found no mention of this issue anywhere. Do you have any suggestions about this?

Also the snap/thunderbird directories shown below are all empty.

Can Thunderbird (128.5.1) use separate authentication and encryption keys (generated w/ gnupg)?

I updated my thunderbird config to allow external gnupg key, but when I try to add the key files, it rejects them. I did find on FAQ there is requirement that authentication and encryption have to be the same key. This seems a bit restrictive given that a user should have one set of keys. I have keys I generated via gnupg w/ use of a card.

Run a search in the top bar for a specific email. Find that specific email in the list generated. Select the email to read the whole message. New tab displays "No message found" error, despite the search showing some data from the email in the results list.

Strange timing to be told something isn't found, after it was found by a search function.

Thunderbird stopped working several months ago - I'd been away for three days and when I was back and tried to download emails, nothing happened. I uninstalled the app, then today downloaded and reinstalled it. When I clicked on Finish, the program opened to show the old installation complete with old emails. Why? If I uninstalled it weeks ago, why did a new install show that old one? That's weird.. This supposed "new" install still will not download new emails. I have checked the settings and they all seem to be correct. Could someone please explain why this is happening. It's so frustrating after Thunderbird had worked so well for so long. Thanks Jenny

My Thunderbird app has been working correctly for months since I installed it. I use Dream Host as my email provider, my email address is jeff@bdmdata.com, and I am running on Win 10.

Starting yesterday, it refused to send or receive any of my emails. It provided the following error message: "The certificate for mail.bdmdata.com is not valid for that server..."

I also received the following message when I open Thunderbird. "You have received 3 new messages..." But no new email messages show up in my inbox.

How can I fix this and get back to work.
