When i click links on a google search results page, why am i being taken to an advertising page instead of the correct site?
Recently I've been unable to click link in google search results; i click one of the links, and instead of going to the page or site that's listed, I get redirected to Ask Jeeves or an advertising site or something else completely unrelated. it's only just started doin this, and is very annoying. i've run antispyware and antivirus software, so I dont know what it is. this also sometimes happens with links on other sites.

Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs.
You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database.
