mail does not arrive
In the last week I have sended three emails with my TB mail program and my Ziggo account to my insurence company filing a damage-claim. Normaly you get an automatic repley that your mail has arrived. I did NOT get this reply and the did not respond. Today I called them. They did not get my mail. Having them on the phone we did three testmails to different emailadresses of the company. Not one arrived though my TB-send box the were archived as "sended mails". When I used my IPAD to do the test again, using my ziggo account. No problem. The mail arrived and I got my automatic repley in 10 seconds so Thunderbird mail did NOT deliver my emails to the company. I can not figure out what went wrong and now I don't trust the program anymore !!!

I suggest you ask Ziggo. They accepted the mail for delivery, or you would have received a sending error when you clicked send. That is was not received is something you must address with Ziggo. What did they do with your mail?
All Thunderbird will ever know is it handed to mail to the next in the chain for delivery, that being Ziggo. Why is that all Thunderbird knows? Because email carries no guarantee of delivery. Just the same as snail mail has no guarantee of delivery.
If I send a mail to a bank (three times) using Thunderbird and it marks it as sended (but it did not) and 5 seconds later I do the same thing using the same Ziggo mail account but this time using my Ipad (so no TB-mail) and all goes well it's hard for me to believe Ziggo is the problem. I guess TB just didn;t deliver it to the next in chain, being Ziggo....

Really I don't care if you think it is reasonable. You provider accepted the email. Please ask them what they did with it instead of telling me you have trouble believing it. Either way I am done here.

Wow, and thats the moderator? Only thing missing is him giving me the middlefinger and telling me to F*** Off. Let's go viral with this way of support and see what the world thinks about this kind of "support".
This is how outgoing mail works. https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5321
Please read it. Then you can tell me what the problem is. Until then I would appreciate it if you could keep your comments to facts.
Thanks Matt, my son it an ICT helpdesk employe. I dó hope he does a better job then you. RTFM is the simplest answer, I agree but why this "support" page if all you can is 'read this and if you're still só darn stupid that you still don't understand then come again but please with the right question (that is, one you're able to answer). Thanks mate, for a great job !! Well, if it helps you I do get a lot of respons from FB and Twitter.
