I have deleted every file I can find. When I reinstall thunderbird it finds my old emails and starts to load them. I am trying to delete everything and start with clean database in Thunderbird. I have tried this on Ubuntu 16.04 and 18.04 with the same results. I have also tried upgrading to Thunderbird 68 from 60 and both programs have act the same. I just need to know what are the files I need to delete to do a clean install with no old e-mails showing up.

The profile folder with all your data is normally not removed when you uninstall the program. Remove the .thunderbird folder, which contains the profile folder, to delete all data. The start of this article explains how to find the .thunderbird folder (and also how to backup or transfer the relevant data).
