Firefox won’t work correctly with my Synology disk station
I don’t know exactly when this problem started, but for some unknown reasons I can’t download files through Firefox from my Synology NAS File Station, when I try to download a folder I get an error “ could not be saved, because the source file could not be read” . This happens when I try to download more than 1 file, if try to download only 1 file, no problem, it works like it should, when i try to download a folder containing more files I get the previous mentioned error, now, why do I post this problem here and not a Synology forum, because unfortunately on any other browser this works like it should, no mater how many files I try to download, and second, I like to much this browser to give up on it and i’m Almost sure this issue can be solved, so... if any one has any idea

Does this help? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Source_file_could_not_be_read
Hello, still me, other computer, other account, sorry for the late reply, unfortunately the above link solution doesn't work, but this is not isolated to one pc or one firefox install, it's a general problem, i've tried it on several diffrent computers, to be more precise, 16 diffrent computers, all having the same problem on Firefox!!!
I called for more help.
This download manager works separately from the browser. The browser tells it what to download, and off it goes.
http://www.freedownloadmanager.org It is a powerful modern download accelerator and organizer for Windows and Mac.
@FredMcD, thanks but a download manager is not a solution, i need this to function like before or like any other browser. @McCoy, tried the link you posted and read through all posts...and the only way i got it to work was by downgrading Firefox to version 66.0.5, all versions above this imediately throw the previews mentioned error.
If a developer is reading this thread, please patch this problem in a future update, thanks!
Hello Daniel,
Would you consider filing a bug report ?
If so :

Hi Daniel, if you have patience and a sense of adventure:
Someone who owns one of these Synology devices will need to test it in the development versions of Firefox to determine whether the bug has already been fixed in a future release. These are the best two for testing:
- Developer: beta test version of Firefox 69 (due for release Sept. 3)
- Nightly: unstable release destined to be released as Firefox 70
Both of those editions should install side-by-side with regular Firefox and not cause any local settings cross-over or contamination; you probably should not connect either of them to your Firefox/Sync Account, if you use one.
Interested?
- Please back up first: Back up and restore information in Firefox profiles
- Then:
@jscher2000, thank you for reply, i've tried both version, unfortunately i get the same error when triyng to download multiple files from synology NAS, if u have any other sugestion, please post it and i'll try it, thanks.
Thank you @McCoy, i'll also create a bug report.

Great ! When you've done that; would you be so kind as to post a link to it here ? Then we can refer to your bug report when others report the same problem, you see.
